How does the number recall challenge work?
A unit designation — a string of digits — is flashed once, then withdrawn. You file it back from memory, exactly, in order. A clean recall runs the next string one digit longer; the run starts at four digits and climbs. The exposure scales with length, so a longer string is shown for longer, but it is never shown twice.
When does the run end?
Two consecutive misses end the run. A single miss costs you nothing but the digit — the same length is re-issued with fresh digits so one slip does not sink you. The longest string you reproduce exactly is the span the protocol files. Digits are generated fresh every round, so a screenshot is worth nothing.
Is this a real memory assessment?
No. It is a game. The span is a game rating for entertainment — it does not measure memory health, diagnose anything, screen for any condition, or stand in for any professional assessment.
